Project: Spring Chicken Year: 2015 Locally-owned fast casual restaurant Spring Chicken values Southern hospitality and natural, organically sourced food. For their flagship location in Coral Gables, Surface Workshop completed millwork, metalwork and upholstery for the restaurant. In the main dining area Surface Workshop built the condiment station with unique shelves floating from the ceiling. Other elements by Surface Workshop include counter and tabletops throughout the dining area and kitchen, as well as upholstered banquettes and dining benches. The use of distressed and finely finished wood provide a rustic ambience for the fledgling, new restaurant concept. Surface Workshop continues to work with Spring Chicken, and completed work for their Fort Lauderdale location.

Project: Weston Residence Year: 2014 This residential project featured the extensive use of premium finished oak and sandblasted granite, providing the home with a richness of textures. The patron (whose son is an artist) consulted with Surface Workshop and the architect in the selection of materials and color palettes, creating unique and unified spaces throughout the light-filled and airy house. Drawing inspiration from the total designs of artist, designer and architect Gio Ponti, the textures of the materials are often accompanied by geometric tiling and gestural light fixtures. Surface Workshop conducted extensive work on the kitchen and bar, as well as several vanities throughout the house. Details include the implementation of the sandblasted granite along interior window ledges.
Built with hand selected Walnut and a custom welded black metal table base.
